And more ... always something new
I have never been consulted
by an artist who would like to be able to stimulate the creative urge,
though I once helped a sculptor to sublimate the pain of a relationship
breakdown into a successful new blossoming of fresh sculptures.
I have never been consulted by someone who wanted an appreciative
audience for their whole life story, but it has come close to that at
times. Also, to my surprise, have been given snippets of what seem
like accounts of past lives. I have never been consulted on the best
way to learn plumbing, but I have advised on ways of learning many
other things, from the material of many university courses to how to
read maps.
There are are no bounds on the variety of things that we human
beings get up to, and the ways in which we do so. It is one of my
great pleasures to get to know of these things, and of often being
able, from the breadth rather than depth of my understanding, to be
able to give some useful insights or help.
I am a man: I consider nothing human to be alien to me.
This is a translation from Terence, a Roman playwright (wikipedia)
who was born some 2,140 years before me. That is not a bad motto for a
Personal Consultant.
